About ActorsJunction
We built the resource hub we wish existed when we started.
Our Mission
ActorsJunction exists for one reason: to give actors a free, independent, and meticulously curated directory of the tools, services, and organizations that actually matter for building a career in the performing arts. No paywalls, no sponsored placements, no hidden agendas — just honest information organized in a way that respects your time and intelligence.
The entertainment industry is massive and constantly evolving. New casting platforms emerge, training programs rebrand, agencies merge, and pricing structures shift without warning. Keeping up with all of it is a full-time job in itself, and most actors already have more than enough on their plates between auditions, classes, survival jobs, and the relentless work of honing their craft.
That is where we come in. We do the research so you do not have to. Every resource listed on ActorsJunction has been individually reviewed, verified, and written up with the kind of detail you would expect from a knowledgeable colleague — not a banner ad. We cover pricing, strengths, limitations, and who each service is best suited for, because a resource that is perfect for a seasoned SAG-AFTRA member might not be the right fit for someone just starting out.
Our goal is simple: to be the single most useful bookmark in every actor's browser. Whether you are looking for your first casting platform, comparing headshot photographers in Los Angeles, or exploring voiceover opportunities abroad, we want ActorsJunction to be the place you come to first.
Why We Built This
When you first decide to pursue acting seriously, the amount of conflicting information is overwhelming. Forum threads contradict each other. Social media influencers push products they are paid to promote. Well-meaning friends offer advice that is outdated or only relevant to a specific market. And through it all, there is a nagging fear that you are missing something obvious — some essential platform or connection that everyone else seems to already know about.
We have been there. We remember signing up for services we did not need, paying for workshops that delivered nothing of value, and spending hours trying to figure out which casting sites were legitimate and which were thinly veiled scams. The information existed, but it was scattered across dozens of websites, buried in Reddit threads, or locked behind expensive coaching programs that repackaged freely available knowledge.
The acting industry, unfortunately, has more than its share of predatory services that target newcomers. Pay-to-play showcases that promise meetings with top agents. Expensive “talent searches” that accept everyone who applies. Headshot mills that churn out generic photos with no regard for what casting directors actually want to see. Part of our motivation for building ActorsJunction was to create a trustworthy alternative — a place where actors can get straight answers about what is worth their money and what is not.
We believe that access to good information should not depend on how much money you have, who you know, or where you live. A first-generation actor in a small town deserves the same quality of guidance as someone whose parents have been in the industry for decades. ActorsJunction is our attempt to level that playing field, even if only a little.

How We Evaluate Resources
Every resource on ActorsJunction goes through a thorough evaluation process before it earns a place in our directory. We start by verifying the basics — is the service active, is the website functional, and does the organization have a legitimate track record? You would be surprised how many “recommended” resources on other sites lead to dead links or defunct companies.
From there, we dig deeper. We examine pricing structures, read user reviews across multiple platforms, check for industry recognition, and when possible, test the services ourselves. We look at how long a company has been operating, whether they are transparent about their fees, and how they respond to criticism. A resource does not have to be perfect to be listed — but we will always be upfront about its limitations.
Our write-ups are designed to give you the information you actually need to make a decision. We do not hide behind vague superlatives or copy marketing language from the company's own website. If a service has a confusing pricing structure, we will tell you. If it is better suited for one market over another, we will explain why. If there is a free alternative that does most of the same things, we will point you to it.
We also revisit existing listings periodically to ensure our information remains accurate. The entertainment industry moves fast, and a recommendation that was valid six months ago might need updating. When we catch changes — new pricing, altered services, company acquisitions — we update our listings accordingly.
For Every Stage of Your Journey
Acting careers do not follow a straight line, and neither do the resources you need. A brand-new actor needs to know about affordable training programs, entry-level casting platforms, and how to get a decent headshot without spending a fortune. A working actor might be looking for specialized coaching, regional agency representation, or opportunities in voiceover and commercial work. A veteran performer might want information about international markets, festival submissions, or transitioning into adjacent fields.
ActorsJunction is organized to serve all of these needs. Our categories span the full lifecycle of an acting career, and our individual resource pages include enough context to help you determine whether something is right for where you are right now. We include “Best For” tags on every listing so you can quickly see if a resource targets beginners, working professionals, or a specific niche.
We also recognize that not every actor follows the traditional path. Some start in community theater and never pursue film. Others jump straight into self-taping auditions from their living room. Some are child actors navigating a completely different set of challenges. Whatever your path looks like, we have worked to ensure ActorsJunction has something valuable to offer you.
Our Values
Independence
ActorsJunction is not funded by any of the services we list. Our recommendations are based entirely on merit, not on who pays us the most. We do not accept sponsored placements or allow companies to pay for favorable reviews.
Honesty
We tell it like it is. If a service has significant drawbacks, we will mention them. If something is overpriced for what it offers, we will say so. Trust is the most important thing we have, and we will not compromise it for anyone.
Inclusivity
The entertainment industry should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background, identity, or geography. We actively seek out resources that serve underrepresented communities and make a point of including options outside the traditional New York and Los Angeles markets.
Accessibility
Great information should be free. ActorsJunction will always be free to use, with no registration required and no content locked behind a paywall. We believe that financial barriers should not prevent anyone from accessing the knowledge they need to pursue their passion.
Accuracy
We take pride in getting the details right. Pricing, features, requirements, locations — we verify everything we publish and update our listings when things change. If we get something wrong, we want to hear about it so we can fix it.
Depth
A simple list of links is not enough. Every resource on ActorsJunction includes a detailed write-up that goes beyond surface-level descriptions. We want you to understand what a service actually does, who it is for, and whether it is worth your time before you ever click through to their website.
